Happiness Study Group began in 2015 reading and studying a book about mindfulness and human flourishing. Since then, our book selections and focus have been to study the Middle Way and Buddhist meditation. Our intention, to make and maintain connections within the community, to support one another in our individual efforts in the practice of mindfulness and to share energy and insights remains constant, but we have changed our format.
It’s been a wonderful and inspiring journey, but after seven years and 18 books, we’re no longer engaged in book study! Nadine has stepped down as leader of the study group and we’ve adopted a rotating format where each week a different member of the group presents a short video for discussion. We start with a friendly check-in to see how everyone is doing. The presenter shares their video and we meditate for 20-30minutes.
This new format is flexible, but the really important thing is the benefit of joining together in meditations, friendship...and generating energy and insights for ourselves and our community.
Below are the selections we have read to date, each building on the next, deepening our understanding and awakening our mindfulness.
